TINO'S GAME

This game was kindly submitted by "Eigo Papa". (YouTube channel name)

Although Tino's students are only about 7 years old, his students can hold their own when speaking English.

Today they are practicing: I want to (Topic card) tonight, but I don't have time, so let's make it (time card).

(Sorry, but the video is not available anymore)

SET UP

1. Select the cards you want to use and split them up between the players.

2. Place 3 or 4 time cards in the center.

3. Explain what the Target Language (TL) will be.

HOW TO PLAY

1. When you say GO!, all players turn the top card of their stack.

2. If there are 2 or more of the same topic cards, the players hit a time card of their choice.

3. The fastest player uses the target language (set by the teacher) and gets all the cards from the other player(s) who had the same topic card.

If all turned card are different topics, the players continue (on the teacher's "GO" sign) until 2 or more players have the same topic.....

The game ends when 1 player has all cards or when it's time to stop.

AN EASIER VERSION

1. Use simpler target language, e.g. I (don't) ____ every day.

2. Instead of 3-4 time cards, place only one time card in the center.

3. The rest is of the game play is the same.....
