RELAY GAME

Relay is a fun activity for in the classroom, but turned out also very adoptable as an online game.

THE TARGET LANGUAGE

Q1. Are you ____ing ____?

A1. No, I'm not!"

Q2. What are you doing?

A2. I am ____ing ____!

SET UP  

1. Put all the cards you want to review in a stack. This is the Game Stack.

HOW TO PLAY (2 player, classroom version)

1. The teacher picks up the top card from the Game Stack (watch TV) and asks: Are you watching TV?

2. The student answers: No, I'm not!

3. The teacher shows the next card (read a book) and asks : What are you doing?

4. The student looks at the new card and answers: I am reading a book!

Now it's the student's turn. (continue with the same card)

1. Student     : Are you reading a book?

2. Teacher     : No, I'm not!

3. Student shows the next card and asks : What are you doing?

4. Teacher     : I am doing homework!

The student and teacher take turns until all the cards are gone.


3 OR MORE PLAYERS

Game play is exactly the same, but now everybody asks the questions (simultaneously) and only one player answers. (see videos below)
